My first visit to this pub in nearly 40 years having been a regular when attending the Polytechnic. Absolutely delighted that it hasn't changed a bit. Same furnishings, same atmosphere and the same friendly welcome. It felt it was like I was just there last week. I will be making every effort to return as soon as possible

Great place, 'spit and sawdust' as they say, stuck in an 80s time warp. Sunderland football decor and souvenirs. Nice friendly barman, decent beers for a fair price.

Always a fantastic experience. Good beer, friendly service and a proper old style boozer. As good now as it was when I first visited in 1985!
